Following the fresh agreement Worldwide Sports Management Group on Saturday has bought Caribbean Premier League (CPL) franchise Jamaica Tallawahs after a multi-crore deal. (Read Here: USA To Play Two T20 Games Against CPL Teams).
Krishna Persaud, who’s the founder and president of World Wide Sports Management Group in a statement, revealed he would extend his thanks to the former owners while aiming to bring desired results for the new challenge he has accepted.
“I would like to especially thank the previous owners and the Hero CPL Team for all of their assistance in making the Tallawahs acquisition a reality,” Persaud stated in the press note.
However, the latest press release was mutually shared by Worldwide Sports Management Group and Jamaica Tallawahs – the defending champions of CPL.
Interestingly, Tallawahs was purchased by Chalak Mitra Group in 2014, as the CPL franchise has claimed two trophies out of four seasons since the inaugural edition took place in 2013.
In a bid to expend the market and give a new rise to its business in the field of sport, the management group has filled all the formalities – to be termed as the sole owner of the Kumara Sangakkara-led Tallawahs.

As the Tallawahs are scheduled to play their inaugural match on August five against Barbados Tridents, Persuad has wished his new outlet which is reckoned as a strong force in the six-team tournament.
“I wish our Mighty Strong Tallawah Team all the best in the upcoming 2017 competition,” Persuad maintained.
The Tallawahs include experienced campaigners including Lendl Simmons (West Indies) and Shakib Al Hasan from Bangladesh as Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim has also been the part of the team.
The Chief Executive Officer of CPL Damien O’Donohoe revealed the side is excited to have a deal with the Worldwide Sports Management Group as a fresh owner and has further expected to work in tandem at home and away.
“We are delighted to welcome Kris Persaud and Worldwide Sports Management Group to the Hero CPL family and look forward to a long and fruitful working relationship with them in both Jamaica and the USA,” O’Donohoe asserted in a release.
After the successful deal was signed, the group will lead the charge of the team in the upcoming fifth edition of Hero CPL which will beginning from August 4 at Lauderhill in Florida.
Moreover, the CPL is being supervised and organized by Windies Cricket Board (WCB), which has reached to America to make the game popular and increase the demand of digital audience following the agreement.
