Much has been said about the ouster of once India’s middle order mainstays Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina.
The current chief of selectors, MSK Prasad has been very particular about the form and fitness of a player before selecting the team. Yuvraj Singh, who was benched for the latter part of the series against West Indies would be really disappointed with not making it to the team for the Sri Lanka ODI’s. Also, Suresh Raina failed to make the cut.
After some initial reports, it was believed that their form was the reason behind the duo not making it to the team, but it was later discovered that the major reason for their ouster was their failure to clear the ‘Yo-Yo’ Test at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.

It is to be believed that the ‘YO-YO’ test is the most difficult fitness test for a cricketer has to undergo.
So what really is a ‘YO-YO’ test? Sportzwiki helps you to figure what the test really is.
The test basically measures the endurance level of a player, as the player performs repeated runs for a specific duration of time. The name ‘Yo-Yo’ derived knowing the pauses given to the player after every run making it look like a ‘Yo-Yo’.
The scores are measured through software with the passing score of 19.5, Yuvraj managed to score 16 which was way under par and below the standards set. Suresh Raina on the other hand, also failed to reach 19.5 mark and failed to pass the test which means that the left-handed batsman has very less time to make it back to the team, as MSK Prasad and coach Ravi Shastri have made their intentions clear about the teams future and their aim for the next World Cup.
