Usually, the cricketers are seen asking for the balls from the spectators when a batsman hits it into the stand.
However, Edgbaston, which was hosting the historic day-night Test between England and West Indies, witnessed an unusual sight on Saturday (August 19), as instead of the players, hundreds of spectators were seen doing something that is usually done by the players.
The England fans dressed up as pigs, monks, bishops, bananas, Trumps, musicians to name a few, gathered in a cluster by the advertising hoardings to demand the return of a big-sized sphere looking like a football which was taken away and placed by an official’s chair. The scenes were hilarious even forcing England captain Joe Root into a smile.
The official soon returned the ball much to the amusement of Alastair Cook who could not stop himself from applauding the official for the same.

Meanwhile, England has taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match Test series by winning the first Test by an innings and 209 runs inside three days. After piling up 514 for eight declared, the hosts bowled out West Indies for 168 and 137 to win the historic day-night Test.
