WWE News: Big Cass Suffered Legitimate Injury On WWE Raw 1

The opening contest of this week’s Raw witnessed a Brooklyn street fight between Enzo Amore and Big Cass. As per the rules, any sort of weapons or moves were legal in this match which was contested under the no-DQ rule. The match started on a good note with a vocal crowd cheering for the Certified G superstars and booing his former tag team partner.

However, the contest came to an abrupt halt following a nasty landing suffered by Big Cass. He fell on his knees off the top ropes which were visibly bad. As we have seen on live television, the heel superstar was not able to move, properly. After consulting with the WWE medical team, the referee decided to call off the match and hand over the win to Enzo.

It was supposedly a ‘work’ thing as WWE superstars often do to sell an injury. Usually, this is done as part of some storylines. But, we have doubts about this one since Cass is already over with his feud with Big Show and Enzo at Summerslam and this one was supposed to be a one-off match against his former best-friend.

Following the incident that happened, Big Cass was checked up at the backstage area where the doctors confirmed a legit knee injury. It means that he will be out of action for a significant amount of time. This time span of him missing Raw can be determined after further check-ups. Here’s an update from WWE regarding the injury:

“Big Cass suffered an injury to his left knee during the Brooklyn Street Fight against Enzo Amore on Raw, WWE.com can confirm. The injury occurred after Amore dodged a big boot by pulling down the top rope, sending Cass to the floor in the process.
“It’s hard to tell what the extent of the injury is, but we’re going to send him to get an MRI tomorrow and figure that out,” said WWE ringside physician Dr. Chris Robinson.”

Once WWE Raw concluded, last night, an exclusive footage was published where we could see the seven-footer leaving the Barclays Center using crutches which mean he is having severe problems in walking.

This injury came at the worst time as he was bound to get a bigger push in the upcoming months. He picked up a big win at Summerslam. Big Show put over him by digesting a loss at the Shark Cage match. But, this injury is set to sideline him for at least sometime after which he has to start fresh on the roster.
