WWE News: Roman Reigns Opens up About the Infamous Post-Wrestlemania 33 Night 1

Roman Reigns faced the Undertaker at this year’s Wrestlemania. What transpired on that night has been included in the history books of the WWE, as the legendary Deadman might have been put to rest. Reigns defeated the man who claimed the WWE ring to be his yard for the past 25 years and transformed the catchphrase to his own.

Being the most popular superstar of all-time, the fans could not accept the loss, easily and targeted Roman Reigns, the next night on Raw. The post-Wrestlemania night of the flagship show is quite infamous for its raucous atmosphere. This year it became even bigger since the audience was willing to eat The Big Dog alive for the win, last night.

He “Undertaker-retiring” superstar opened the night, and the crowd went right after him showering with insane boos and words. Several abusive chants were heard from the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida that did not allow Reigns it speak a single word for almost eight minutes. At last, he just uttered the word “This is my yard” to finish the segment.

Being the victim to the WWE Universe is not easy for the superstar, at all. But, for the last couple of years, Roman Reigns has been The Guy who is doing it for the company, quite effectively. In an interview with Off The Rope, he opened up about the infamous moment and was happy to be a part of it where the creative team executed a successful plan. They wanted the exact same reaction from the crowd. Check out Reigns’ words, here:

“But it was so bittersweet to just be able to have full control. I just felt like everybody was on a string at that point and I was just pulling them. There’s a little thing where you can see I pretty much mouth it, ‘I got em in the palm of my hand.’ I had thousands of people doing exactly what I wanted them to do and it’s like a master plan and it’s unfolding perfectly in front of your eyes.”

The franchise player of the company also noted that he felt sorry for the superstars next in line since the segment extended for a few more minutes due to the overwhelming reaction. It forced to keep The returning Hardy Boyz waiting for the Gorilla position for sometimes, This was final words from The Big Dog,

“I knew we were getting pretty deep into that Seg One and we’re about pretty much cross over into Seg 2 and Seg 3, and I felt bad because there were guys, I think it was one of the Hardy Boyz against Sheamus or Cesaro, and I did feel bad because I did eat into their match, but there was that electricity out there, and you don’t leave the table when you’re on the heater.”
