Meanwhile, Bumrah was adjudged as the Man of the Series for his stellar show in India’s historic 5-0 win. In the last match of the series, India was set a target of 239 which they achieved with utmost ease.

Led by Virat Kohli’s sparkling 30th ODI century, the Men in Blue recovered from a shaky start to chase down the total by losing just four wickets and with more than three overs left.

Speaking after the game, Bumrah said he always dreams of playing Test cricket before praising Sri Lanka’s veteran bowler Lasith Malinga.

“Nothing like that (on his Test chances getting a boost after this performance). It’s always a dream. Hopefully, when I get my chance, I would want to do well. I got a good break before the series. I was fresh to come into the series. It has been a long journey with him (Malinga). I will continue to learn with him. I am not thinking about that (using Malinga’s skills to beat Sri Lanka). I am just trying to become a better bowler,” he said.
