India vs Australia 2nd ODI at Jaipur: Top Five Performers

India vs Australia 2nd ODI at Jaipur: Top Five Performers. As the historic match concludes at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, we have plenty of runs and records to cherish.

The bowlers had a terrible night out at Jaipur as almost every bowler was treated with no respect by the batsmen. As many as eight batsmen registered half centuries in today’s match equalizing the record of most number of fifties in an ODI International. It was a tough pick to select the performers of the match, but in the end, we settled in for five players. Five batsmen to be more precise. The top performers of the match are:

5. Glenn Maxwell 53(32)

The Australian top order provided the perfect platform for a huge score and it would have been criminal in a pitch like this if the death overs are not counted in. The Melbourne made cricketer continued from where the dismissed batsmen left and made quick work of the Indian medium pacers.

4. Shikhar Dhawan 95(86)

Not very often you will see an opener who has made a 90 odd score with 14 boundaries and stand 4th in top performers list. Shikhar Dhawan as always showcased the dominating style of batting. The moustache man started the innings on a positive note and played the dominant partner role in the 176 run partnership for the opening wicket alongside Rohit Sharma.

3. George Bailey 92*(50)

Australia is always known for producing quality middle order batsmen and we witness a man filling the big shoes of Mike Hussey. George Bailey, standing in as a captain is in middle of a terrific run and he produced boundaries whenever he needed them and stayed till the very end.

2. Virat Kohli 100*(52)

Rated as the best batsman of this generation, he justified it one more time today. He started the attack right from the very first ball and cleared the boundaries with utter ease all through his innings. The partnership of 144(83) with Rohit Sharma going at a rate of almost 10runs an over nailed the win and he made the fastest century by an Indian.

1.Rohit Sharma 141*(123)

Considered as an international failure not very long ago, the fortune seems to be in his favour. Winning two of the biggest tournaments in limited overs cricket captaining the team, and making fifties on a consistent basis he had cemented his spot in the team. However, he was guilty of never converted the fifties he scored into tons and today he was up to the occasion and played a sparkling knock and scored a ton after three years. Even when he was affected by cramps, he pushed hard for making runs and played his shots with ease. Obviously, Rohit Gurunath Sharma stands at pole of the top performers list.
