With top 45 players of the country busy with the Duleep Trophy commitments, it was a chance for the 15 members of the Board President XI squad to try and upset Australia, to impress selectors.

However, hardly anyone lived up to the name, and the visitors defeated the hosts by a big margin of 103 runs. Washington Sundar was the lone stand out bowler for the team, who bowled a spell of 8-1-23-2 but the pitch had a crucial role to play in it.
Rest, whether it was IPL star Rahul Tripathi, Nitish Rana or skipper Gurkeerat Singh Mann him, no one did justice to the talent. Head Coach Hemang Badani has called this game as a reality check for the players and has stressed on the lessons learned from the game,
“They need to go back and figure out what needs to be done from here if they want to take their careers forward. Australia are one of the best sides in the world,” the Head Coach of BCCI President’s XI said.

Skipper Gurkeerat Singh Mann though called this experience as a bonus and it a great exposure for the players,
“It was great exposure for them to play against such experienced players. It is always beneficial when you get a taste of that level,” said Gurkeerat.
With none of the players impressing in the game, now there are slim chances of selectors calling any member from this team for the Duleep Trophy. Just like they have done till now, we might see players of only first-class cricket getting a call up for the last two games.
