Marcus Stoinis Left Stunned With Akshay Karnewar's Ambidextrous Skill 1

The Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis was left stunned when he saw the ambidextrous bowler Akshar Karnewar. At the end of the practice game between Australia and Board President’s XI, Stoinis said that he had never seen this sort of thing before,

“I actually didn’t know what the umpire was trying to tell me, He was trying to say ‘he’s going to bowl left arm to you’. So that’s brilliant by him. I’ve never seen that before. Ever,” he told Cricket.com.au.

Karnwear was bowling right arm spin to left handed batsman Marcus Stoinis whereas switched his hand whenever Stoinis was at the crease. Despite the bowler having this option, he couldn’t bowl well and spent 59 runs in his quota of six overs. However, his skills have impressed the Aussie player, and he has made an impact on the Kangaroo camp.

Karnwear, an all-rounder from Vidarbha, grabbed attention during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2015/16 when, during a televised game, he switched his hand and bowled with differents arm in the same over. Soon, he became the talk of the town.

However, it was after one year when he got an IPL contract. He was the part of Royal Challengers Bangalore camp in IPL 2017 and Indian skipper Virat Kohli is well versed of the spinner possessing this rare skill.

Karnewar had a good domestic season 2016/17 and was also part of India B for the Deodhar Trophy 2017. Riding on his performance in the previous season, he was given a place in Board President’s XI squad for the one off practice game against Australia but the second string side lost to Steven Smith led boys by a margin of 103 runs.

The win at the start of the tour has undoubtedly boosted the morale of the visitors, coming into the series against a strong Indian team.
