Cricket South Africa (CSA) CEO Haroon Lorgat, who parted ways with an immediate effect with the board, revealed he is proud of his work while enjoying the premium post in the gentleman’s game.

“We can all be proud of where we are today as Cricket South Africa. I am pleased to leave Cricket South Africa in a solid state and a lot better than when I entered it,” Lorgat said in his release published by South African media.

The 57-year-old Lorgat, who had also served as the CEO of the world cricket governing body, ICC in the recent past, has released his statement in which he revealed to see the Twenty20 Global League becoming an instant hint.

“I know that I have served the sport with great respect, commitment, dedication and passion. I believe we will succeed to be among the best leagues in the world,” Lorgat’s release added.

The Port Elizabeth-born Lorgat had also floated the idea of professional T20 league in 2015, in a bid to set the platform for the current crop of players.

“In late 2015, the T20 Global League was a mere pipe dream,” Lorgat maintained.

Lorgat in his testimonial reiterated about his untiring efforts to work in tandem with the franchise owners while fetching decent deals, as the inaugural edition of the T20 Global League is slated for November 3.

“Having worked hard since then and to the very best of my abilities, we are all very pleased with the impressive set of team owners and players already in place,” Lorgat remarked.

Owing to the success, Lorgat sees himself as a fortunate administrator while believing he has overhauled the set-up within the CSA – to make it one of the best Boards in the contemporary cricket.

“[It] is just one of many success stories I feel privileged to have been a part of,” Lorgat further added.

As the uncertainty looms large over the league apparently due to the broadcasting procedure, the domestic T20 competition is bound to grab the eyeballs, as many international stars have signed the lucrative deals with different T20 GL outfits.

“Sure, we encountered many challenges along the way, not least at the very outset of my appointment,” Lorgat concluded.

On the other side, the president of CSA Chris Nenzani earlier remarked that CSA and Lorgat didn’t reach to the agreement which has further left a gaping hole owing to the breakdown between the cricket body and Lorgat himself.

“We recently tried on a few occasions to remedy the situation between Mr Lorgat and the board, but we have not been successful in finding a satisfactory resolution,” Nenzani was quoted as saying by SA Cricket Magazine.

The development came when Proteas was hosting Bangladesh on the first day of the Test (two-match series) on September 28 in Potchefstroom.

While terming it as ‘incredible journey’ with CSA, Lorgat has shared a friendly bond with the players and with his unwavering faith build on as an effective administrator.
