Ben Stokes miseries seem to be never-ending right now as the investigation into his case has been extended and he will have to wait until the end of October for a final verdict on his Ashes decision. Stokes is still a part of England’s Ashes squad as a vice-captain, but according to some reports, he will not travel with the team if the investigation has not been concluded.

Stokes is under investigation for causing actual bodily harms to a 27-year-old man outside a bar after England’s win against West Indies in Bristol. Stokes was arrested by the police next day but was released and is still under investigation for the incidence and has been suspended by the ECB for any further selection in international cricket.
The 26-year old’s fate will now be decided in the next two weeks after a police investigation. The England team is scheduled to leave for Australia on 28th October. The first Ashes Test will begin on the 23rd November at the Gabba in Brisbane.
The England and Wales cricket board is holding its investigation on the incidence. However, this delay in the study will come as a blow for the ECB as his replacement for the Ashes is yet to be named.
On the other hand, Australia also suffered a major blow as James Pattinson was ruled out of the Ashes following a lower back stress fracture and will take an indefinite break from the game.
