Ashish Nehra, the T20 specialist and the most experienced player in team India at present, might call it a day on his international career after the T20I series against New Zeland, a report in Pune Mirror suggests.

The news is a surprising one as a few days back, Nehra had himself revealed he is planning to play until the age of 40, but as per the report, Nehra understands that at this age, he should not be playing international cricket anymore.

Ashish Nehra is only a T20 specialist player now and plays for India in the shortest format of the game. For Delhi as well, he plays only a handful of List A games every season. He got injured in both 2016 and 2017 IPL season and has undergone a total of 12 surgeries till now. It could be the very well reason for him considering this move. The second reason for him contemplating this move could be the settled bowling line-up of India.
Nehra, surprisingly, did not get a chance in the first T20I against Australia, as skipper Virat Kohli decided not to tinker with the settled pace attack. Even if we leave the current pace attack, India has a pretty much solid bench strength.

Many youngsters who did well in the IPL are also in the fray to come to the Indian team, and Nehra is probably the reason why they cannot get that one spot because he is an automatic selection in the shortest format of the game.
The Indian team will face New Zealand in the first T20I of the series on November 1st at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium – the home ground of Nehra – and there itself; we might see an announcement coming out from the pacer. Though the news is not confirmed as of yet, the chances of the decision coming out are likely.
