Colombian striker Jackson Martinez is an official Atletico Madrid player now.
The former Porto striker has confirmded the move to Vicente Calderón and has signed for the next four seasons.
“I can confirm I am going to Atletico”, he said after the defeat against Argentina at the Copa America quarter finals.
“I am going there for four years but I still don’t know when I will be introduced.”
“I have had great progression, always learning, always growing and now I’m going to Atlético where I hope to help the team and continue to grow as a player,” Jackson added.

The 28 year old striker, called as Cha Cha Cha for his dance like moves on the pitch, had a brilliant season for Porto. The 6 feet 1 inch striker scored 21 goals for the Portuguese giants.
Jackson has 39 appearances for Colombian national team and has scored on 10 occasions.
The Player took part in Copa America for Colombia and is now looking to join his new team under manager Diego Simeone after Colombia’s exit from the quarter finals.
Arsenal and AC Milan were also interested in the forward but they now have to look elsewhere after this blow.
Henrique Pompeo, the agent of FC Porto front man Jackson Martinez, had already confirmed that the Colombian footballer had chosen to sign for Atletico Madrid, instead of AC Milan and Arsenal few days ago.
Pompeo also had mentioned that the deal was sealed with Atletico on Tuesday, with the transfer fee of approximately £25 million. He said, “It was finalised today. We want to thank AC Milan for their interest right up to the end, we feel very honoured by it, but you can’t be in two places at once.”
Martinez is going to replace Mario Mandzukic at Atletico, who left for Italy last week to join Juventus on a 3 year contract.
