Team India bowling coach Bharat Arun is highly impressed with the bowling stock especially the fast-bowling department, as the pace portent stifled the batting line-up of top-notch teams in the recent past.
The death bowling specialists Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah had paid rich dividends in India’s favour, as the opposition was found wanted against spin-bowling particularly when India played at home.
“It’s quite a privilege to have bowlers who are so versatile, especially [Jasprit] Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar [Kumar],” Arun was quoted as saying by India Today.

The 54-year-old Vijayawada-born Arun revealed the duo are aware of their task and has eventually shown the remarkable improvement in every passing game while adding both are making most out of their hard work with the set of skills they possess.
“They are extremely skillful when it comes to death bowling; they have variety and know when to use their skills perfectly to do well in death overs,” Arun asserted.

Earlier, in July, Arun was appointed as the bowling coach until 2019 50-over World Cup, as he had previously served Indian national side between 2014 and 2016 when the current chief coach was the then team director.
Moreover, Arun, who represented India in four One-day internationals and two Tests for his five international scalps, believes it would challenging to ask the promising bowlers to perform on every time basis after showing their exuberance while leading from the front.
“The biggest challenge would be to make them perform time and again to maintain the level of consistency,” Arun maintained.

Arun made an important point by saying the back-up of the bowlers is essential for every team in the contemporary cricket, as being a part of the management he is observing the players closely while terming them ‘versatile’.
“For that I need to create a pool of players, all of whom can come in anytime and do their job. This Indian team is blessed with bowlers who are so versatile,” Arun remarked.
Arun accredited the success to the bowling show while reiterating it had been a significant fascination for the team.
The decision of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) owing to the rotation policy subsequently didn’t sit well with many.
“Ashwin and Jadeja have been exceptional spinners, they have done a great job with both the white and red ball. They would definitely be a part of the old setup,” Arun added.
While praising the efforts of seam-bowling all-rounder Hardik Pandya, Arun believes the 24-year-old aggressive professional has a lot in him to offer for the national side in the near future.
“He is really happy to take up challenges and the biggest challenge he will have in terms of his bowling is to able to bowl his quota of 10 overs in ODIs,” Arun further added.

Promptly, the promising spinners in off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja were sidelined for the third consecutive limited-overs series since both features in Sri Lanka in the five-day format.
While clearing the air, Arun expressed that the absence of the premium bowlers has been extended, in a bid to provide a ‘fair run to leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and chinaman Kuldeep Yadav, who has had been impressive against Australia during the limited-overs series.
“It is the team management’s view of giving everyone a fair run and it’s only fair that we give Kuldeep and Chahal a fair run,” Arun concluded.
The hosts are scheduled to kick-start their bilateral against New Zealand on October 22, as the series is comprised of three ODIs and as many T20Is respectively.
Arun played 48 first-class fixtures and 14 List A matches, as he bagged 117 wickets in the domestic fold.
