It was the go-home episode of WWE Raw for the WWE TLC PPV. A colossal steel cage matchup between Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman was announced to hype the show-up.
Plus, a couple of more matches were expected for TLC match card to fill it up. Here’s how the show went down at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon.
The show opened up with Kurt Angle welcoming the crowd and announcing that The Shield is back on the scene. The Hounds of Justice appeared with their iconic entrance and their old in-ring gears. The crowd went thunderous to react to this. The trio cut a power-packed promo to let their arrival know to the world.
They further invited Sheamus-Cesaro, The Miz and Braun Strowman to the ring for a fight. All hell was about to lose when Kurt Angle appeared to stop them and save it for the TLC night. He then made the tag team match official for WWE Raw where The Bar gets another chance to the reigning champs, Ambrose and Rollins.
The Miz TV had Braun Strowman as its guest for the first-time ever. Miz announced that he intends to add a fifth member to the match at TLC. The Raw GM came down to announce that Miz is pushing too much. He then added a stipulation to the main event match between Reigns and Strowman. If the latter one wins then a fifth member will be added to TLC main event. If Strowman loses, then the match will be a 3-on-3 affair.
Enzo Amore was present inside the ring to address his title loss on last week’s WWE Raw. He was cut short by the new champion, Kalisto who received cheer from the crowd. In the midst of his promo, four individuals from 205 Live, Drew Gulak, Tony Nese, Ariya Daivari and Noam Dar attacked the champion. Mustafa Ali tried to make the save, but the numbers game caught up, as they received a beatdown from the heels.
The team of Jason Jordan, Apollo Crews, and Titus O’Neil defeated Elias, Karl Anderson, and Luke Gallows. Sasha Banks defeated Alicia Fox in a singles contest. In a singles affair, Cedric Alexander pinned Jack Gallagher in a match form the Cruiserweight division.
Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins defended their WWE Raw tag team championships, as per the earlier announcement. The match fell short to some extent due to the contenders holding back the momentum. Rollins super-kicked Sheamus to take him out of the equation and hit the knee to the face of Cesaro. Ambrose hit the Dirty Deeds on Cesaro to get the pinfall win.
Emma and Alexa Bliss had a backstage segment where the champion managed to get Emma, as her tag partner for the night. So, they teamed up against the heel team of Mickie James and Bayley on WWE Raw. The babyface team kept the momentum going in their favour, as Emma was put down by Bayley and Mickie hit the Mick-kick on Bliss to pick up the win.
In the main event match, The Miz was present to hint a fifth member to be added to their side on Sunday. Roman Reigns was standing tall against Strowman inside the ring when Kane’s music hit the arena and he came out tearing the mat. He delivered double chokeslams to Reigns after which Strowman followed up with a running powerslam for the win to close the show.
