Alberto El Patron was the reigning champion at the Impact Wrestling promotion at the beginning of this year. He had quite an incredible run with the championship until involving into the controversial Orlando Airport incident alongside his girlfriend, Paige.
That was an unfortunate incident that forced the police department to investigate around them for domestic violence. However, they were not found guilty.
In the meantime, the Impact Wrestling promotion was not happy with their top titleholder getting involved allegedly for domestic battery. Hence, the company decided to strip the former WWE Champion of the Impact world title. Since then, the Mexican Superstar has been absent from TV tapings.
There were quite speculations with Alberto El Patron’s wrestling career following the incident, especially considering Jeff Jarrett parted ways with the company. He was the main creative for Impact who brought Alberto under Impact Wrestling’s wings. However, later, we received an announcement which suggested that he will be back at the Bound for Glory PPV.
Till date, we have not received any update of Alberto’s involvement at the upcoming event from Canada. If reports from PWInsider.com are to be believed, then he will be involved big-time at the last PPV event of 2017 from Impact Wrestling. He might be included in the championship match to alter the entire scenario.
For now, the title match is set to be a singles affair between Johnny Mundo and Eli Drake. But, the changes situation might be as following (courtesy stillrealtous.com)
“One idea that’s being discussed is possibly adding him to the match as a wrestler, and another idea is to add him to the match as a special guest referee. Bound For Glory will be Alberto El Patron’s first appearance on Impact Wrestling programming in several months, and the company wants to make the most of it.”
Apparently, the company heads are bound to utilize the return of the big star like Alberto El Patron to the fullest. Hence, we can certainly expect some big announcement with the Mexican Aristocrat on the next TV taping after which the entire roster will head for the big Bound for Glory PPV event.
