WWE News: Two Big Matches Announced for Next Edition of Smackdown 1

The road to the Survivor Series PPV is turning out to be quite interesting, as of late.

As confirmed, there would be four Champion vs Champion matches at the Survivor Series PPV alongside the traditional tag team elimination matches from both male and female division. This week, we have two new captains on both the sides making it quite an exceptional event.

Kurt Angle and Shane McMahon will be leading their respective brand which is Raw and Smackdown Live, respectively to make things interesting. Also, the final lineups are likely to be determined, next week.

Raw has not been involved in setting up the team, till date, whereas, Smackdown already has four big names on their side which are Shane McMahon, Randy Orton, Shinsuke Nakamura and Bobby Roode. Next week, we are confirmed to have the final participant of the Smackdown team for Survivor Series PPV.

Rusev was quite happy after earning a win on the Halloween edition of Smackdown Live, this week. He was pitted against Big E of the New Day for a singles contest. Aiden English was present by his side to provide the distraction. So, it became easy for him to connect with a superkick and get the big win.

Afterwards, he demanded to get inserted into the team led by Shane McMahon. So, he was given an opportunity against AJ Styles, next week. The winner of this match will be the last member of team blue.

It is a match which will be happening for the first time. With AJ being the universal babyface and Rusev being the bonafide heel, they should be able to put up an interesting match.

The other big match announced for the next edition of Smackdown is a championship match. It could very well be changing the lineups for Survivor Series in the tag team champions vs champions card.

Shelton Benjamin and Chad gable are the current number one contenders for the Smackdown tag titles. They have been given the opportunity to the championship held by the Usos. We have seen a backstage segment on the show which confirmed that the fresh match between these two teams would be happening in the UK, next week.
