With India sealing the three-match T20 International series against New Zealand on Wednesday (November 7), former India opener Virender Sehwag came up with a not so Sehwag-like reply for Ross Taylor’s ‘darji’ message before the series-decider.
Taylor had taken the banter that had started between him and Sehwag during the ODI series to a different level with a hilarious message before the final T20I.
Posting a picture to his Instagram account of him sitting outside a closed tailor’s shop, Taylor wrote: “@virendersehwag #Rajkot mein match k baad, #darji (Tailor) Ki dukaan band. Agli silai #Trivandrum mein hogi… Zaroor Aana. #India #IndvNZ. (The ‘darji’ (Tailor) shop in Rajkot is shut after the game. The next stitching will happen in Trivandrum. Please do come.).”

Later, Sehwag had expressed his surprise over Taylor’s tweet and had gone on to ask the Unique Identification Authority Of India (UIDAI) to enquire whether Taylor could be granted an Aadhaar card on the back of his impeccable Hindi, leaving the fans in split.
The swashbuckling opener has now extended the ‘darji’ banter on Twitter after India’s narrow win in the third and final T20I in Thiruvananthapuram. At the same time, Sehwag also refrained from taking a dig at the ‘nice guys’ from New Zealand after their loss.
“Dhulaai ke baad silaai, but well played NZ. Never feel very bad losing against NZ because they are such nice guys,but sweet victory for India,” Sehwag tweeted after the game concluded following a lengthy delay due to rain (which Sehwag referred as dhulaai) .

Meanwhile, India beat the Kiwis by 6 runs to seal the deal. Batting first in the rain-curtailed tie which was reduced to 8-overs per side, India posted 67 for 5 with Virat Kohli, Manish Pandey and Hardik Pandya being the major contributors.
In reply, New Zealand rarely looked in contention to chase down the total after losing both of their openers cheaply and eventually finished on 61 for 6.
