Going forward from the last dual brand PPV of the year 2017, WWE Raw continued to deliver exciting episodes in a row. Last night, we witnessed the launch of the Intercontinental Championship Open Challenge by Roman Reigns. Plus, we also heard from Paige, the returning one who stole the thunder, last week. Check out the results from the show hosted by the Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville, Tennessee.
WWE Raw opened up with Roman Reigns arriving in his yard as a Grand Slam winner to address the WWE Universe. He was quickly interrupted by The Miztourage, but the leader was absent, as expected. In his absence, Elias joined Dallas and Axel and answered to Reigns’ open challenge. In the meantime, Seth Rollins arrived in the ring to take on Cesaro.
Both men’s respective partners were not present by their side. Dean Ambrose was enjoying his honeymoon, whereas, Sheamus went home to Ireland. Rollins was able to fight out of the sharpshooter in the match to connect with the Ripcord Knee for the win. After the match, it was disclosed that next week, they would have the tag team championship rematch against The Bar.
Samoa Joe had a match with Titus O’Neil after their altercation from last month. It was a cakewalk for Samoa, as he locked in the Coquina Clutch to pick up the win. After the match, he confronted Apollo Crews and started a brawl. This time too, he locked in the submission lock to put Apollo pass out.
Bray Wyatt cut a promo on the Thanksgiving tradition of the Americans before facing Matt Hardy. After an entertaining match, Hardy missed his finishing move, Twist of Fate and got hit by the Sister Abigail to suffer a loss. Aftermath, Matt Hardy started weirdly inside the ring with the Delete chants. It was an indication of his potential Broken-turn.
The newly debuted faction of Paige, Mandy Rose, and Sonya Deville took out Mickie James and Bayley at the backstage area to leave Sasha Banks alone in the ring. After cutting a promo on Paige’s accomplishments in the WWE, the trio started attacking The Boss. It finished with a Ram-paige on Sasha to lay her down.
Rich Swann won a fatal-4-way match to advance to a championship shot on 205 Live. Asuka had another squash match against Dana Brooke to defeat her via submission. After the match, Paige emerged to the ring with her faction, Absolution by her side but she never backed down and never hit Asuka.
Roman Reigns defended the IC title against Elias in a match where the members of Miztourage created distractions for him. However, Reigns connected with the spear to finish the match and retain his title. After the match, Samoa Joe attacked the champ on the ramp and locked in the Coquina Clutch to put him down.
In the main event, Kane faced Jason Jordan in a singles match where the latter one gave up due to the knee injury. Finn Balor emerged to face the monster, but this match got disqualified too due to Kane using a chair. Braun Strowman came down to make the save and seek retribution. He followed up by attacking the throat of Kane just like last week. The show ended with the masked monster falling into the crowd and walk away.
