Fulham

Fulham’s season is not at all what the fans were hoping for. They are currently in the drop zone with 10 points and a 3-1-7 record to put them in 18th. Thus far they have only managed to score more than one goal in one match for their 4-1 away win over Crystal Palace.

Swansea City have seen their season get off to a slow and jittery start, which seems to be due to their involvement in the Europa League. They have only two more points than Fulham with a 3-3-5 record putting them in 13th place. They have given up 15 goals while also scoring 15.

What to expect from the Match

Only Palace, virtue of an inferior goal difference, have a worse home record than Fulham this season who, after a 4-0 defeat to Liverpool, won’t relish the visit of Swansea. The Welsh outfit have returned victorious from both of their Premier League trips to Craven Cottage and will be hopeful of doing so once again against a Fulham side that have had at least 20 shots fewer than any other side this season (87).

Brede Hangeland should return to the backline and will likely replace Amorebieta, who has struggled to adjust to Premier League football thus far. Aaron Hughes could replace Zverotic at right-back after the 4-0 defeat to Liverpool, with first choice Sascha Riether still suspended. Darren Bent will hope that another abject attacking display sees him come into contention, and the same could be said for Bryan Ruiz.

Michel Vorm returns from suspension to replace Gerhard Tremmel, who conceded 3 goals against Stoke and failed to make a single save. Michu could be sidelined for two or three more weeks due to the ankle injury he sustained against Cardiff, with Shelvey and Pozuelo vying for a start in his absence. With Hernandez also likely to continue to miss out, Nathan Dyer could return at the expense of Roland Lamah having scored from the bench last time out.

Predictions

Both sides will be disappointed by their current standing and another defeat is likely to see Martin Jol’s position come under even more pressure following the club’s decision to appoint Rene Meulensteen as head coach last week.

Fulham 0-2 Swansea
