Last Sunday night, Natalya remained unsuccessful to regain the Smackdown women’s championship from Charlotte Flair. These two competed in a Lumberjack match where all the women’s were present in the Smackdown locker room made their presence felt in the contest. Most of them were the heels and hence helped Nattie to emerge as the winner.
However, the reigning champions put on a dominant performance and took all the heel out of the equation with a worth-a-watch moonsault off the top rope.
Natalya was able to lock in the Sharp-shooter, but Charlotte countered it with the Figure eight leg lock, real quick, the challenger had no choice but to tap out.

Following the loss, Natalya was frustrated after digesting another loss to her nemesis, Charlotte. So, while giving an interview, she delivered some harsh words to the Flair Clan. It was an indication of a new twist coming up around this storyline.
However, The Queen of Harts also quoted the following to the WWE Universe,
“I have carried this entire division for ten years, and all of you have treated me with nothing but disrespect! The WWE Universe wants to turn their back on me? The women want to turn their back on me? Well, now I’m turning my back on all of you!”
Poured my heart into #wweclash but I can’t remember a time in the ring where I haven’t. It’s the best feeling to give it your all even if the outcome isn’t what you want. Tough times are where I’ve done most of my growing. You don’t have to carry a championship to be a CHAMPION. pic.twitter.com/TNIvb7Dsmu

These quotes went viral on the social media, as the entire WWE Universe started to think that it might be was an angle to write Natalya off the Smackdown TV. After competing in the women’s division for a decade, she might be willing to hang up her boots for good.

However, on Twitter, Nattie was quick to respond to the speculations confirming that it will not be a swan-song for her when we go live into the next episode of Smackdown Live. A Twitter user asked her about the potential retirement when she came up with a negative reply to it.
The tweet was deleted later, though. Later, WWE.com also indicated that a new storyline angle might be in reserve for the former women’s champion,
“Will she exhibit a more hostile, ruthless side in her tactics to climb back to the top of the Women’s division? Or could this possibly be the end of the road for Natalya just four months removed from her resurgent SmackDown Women’s Title victory at SummerSlam?”
