Earlier, WWE has confirmed to come up with a new concept in the history of this business. They tied up with Facebook to come up with a new show that will start airing exclusively on the social media platform in January. Here, the female and male superstars will form mixed tag teams to compete against another such team in a tournament.
There will be multiple such matches featuring Raw and Smackdown superstars. Kurt Angle and Daniel Bryan, the respective general managers for the red and blue brand, respectively have let us know about the roster members who would participate in this series which is as follows:
Monday Night Raw: Alexa Bliss, Alicia Fox, Asuka, Bayley, Braun Strowman, Enzo Amore, Finn Balor, Goldust, Nia Jax, Sasha Banks, The Miz
SmackDown Live: Becky Lynch, Bobby Roode, Carmella, Charlotte, Jimmy Uso, Lana, Naomi, Natalya, Rusev, Sami Zayn, Shinsuke Nakamura.
Now, PWInsider.com has come up with some backstage updates regarding this tournament which might alter current show timings on the WWE Network. It revealed the start time of the brand new show as well as the possibility of alterations of the events.
According to the announcements of WWE, the Mixed Match Challenge will go on air on January 16th at 9:00 PM CST which is on Tuesday Night. It clashes with the normal start time with the WWE 205 Live show on the WWE Network.
As per the source, the show tapings reserved for the Cruiserweights will be shifted from its original schedule. It might move away prior to the beginning of Smackdown Live whereas the timing might remain the same. In that case, it will not be broadcasted in a live format.
Also, it is possible that the Cruiserweight show might move before the Smackdown Live, as well. Rumors around this have been surfaced on the social media for quite sometimes and the rescheduling of shows might happen on this particular date of January 16th.
The source also hinted that this brand new show based on mixed tag matches will eventually be telecasted on the WWE Network, as well. An agreement has been made between WWE and Facebook. So, a further announcement should be made with a future time span.
