The year 2017 has been a sensational year as far as limited overs cricket and ODI’s are concerned. The highlight of this year has been the victorious Champions Trophy campaign for Pakistan in June when no one gave them a chance ahead of the start of the tournament.
Even in the opening match, they were steamrolled by a strong Indian side but came back to defeat the same opponents in the finals by a massive margin of 180 runs.
The bowler who made the turnaround for Pakistan in the tournament was speedster Hasan Ali who bowled with venom and troubled the opposition batsman on a consistent basis.
He carried on his success from the tournament in the future matches and ended the year as the highest wicket taker with 45 wickets behind his name in just 18 games at a sensational average of 17.04.

Afghan leggie Rashid Khan who has been a sensation in the cricketing circles was arguably the best bowler of the year despite bagging a couple wicket less than Hasan Ali. In 16 clashes the teenager has bagged 43 wickets at an astounding average of 10.44. He also boasts of a brilliant economy rate of 3.80 runs per over.
Another Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah who has been a revelation for the men in Blue in the limited overs format occupies the 3rd spot with 39 scalps to his name while English speedster Liam Plunkett and Team India all-rounder Hardik Pandya occupies the 4th and the 5the position each with 36 and 31 wickets, respectively.
Left-arm pacer from New Zealand, Trent Boult who bagged a career best 7/34 against the Windies finished the year in the 6th position with 28 wickets. Now how do you leave out Bhuvneshwar Kumar who has been another top performer for India? He occupies the 7th spot with 28 scalps while Imran Tahir, Kagiso Rabada, and Adil Rashid make up the last 3 with 27, 27 and 26 wickets.
