Last week, we officially learned about the first-ever women’s Royal Rumble match by the WWE Raw commissioner, Stephanie McMahon.
There were not much stored, as fallout from the historic announcement on this week’s show. But, by the end of the night, we surely do know a big name to enter the prestigious match who can be a big threat to the current champion, Alexa Bliss.
The five-feet of fury was present in front of the crowd while cutting a heel promo to the Chicago crowd about how she became the Goddess of the WWE and made the historic match possible to happen at the Royal Rumble PPV. However, her boasting was cut short by Asuka who has turned out to be a threat to her title, lately.

So, the former NXT women’s champion was quick to deliver a short but strong message to the reigning champ on WWE Raw. As per her statement, (courtesy wrestlingINC.com)
“Asuka announced on tonight’s RAW that she would be in the first-ever women’s Royal Rumble match at the January 28th pay-per-view from Philadelphia. As noted, the first to announce her Rumble spot was SmackDown Superstar Naomi. The winner of the match will go on to receive a women’s title shot at WrestleMania 34.”

It is to be noted that Alexa Bliss will not be a part of the historic Royal Rumble match since she is the champion. So, it is certain that she might be defending her title against a contender from the Raw women’s division. We are yet to learn about that. Hopefully, WWE will come up with an announcement in the upcoming weeks.

Meanwhile, Paige and her group, Absolution continued to dominate WWE Raw with another consecutive win. Following the show, she re-introduced her faction to the fans, once again promising devastation to continue. It is also likely that each one of them will be entering the Royal Rumble match.
