As reported earlier, there’s a chance that Randy Orton might miss the next edition of Wrestlemania. He has been a constant main eventer guy in the WWE for the past two decades and appeared at the grandest stage of them all, consecutively in marquee matches. So, WWE fans were surely upset with this potential news that might sideline the former world champion in a stage where he had some incredible memories.
However, there’s a recent update available on this story that states quite positive about the situation around the Apex Predator of the WWE. According to the reports of PWInsider.com, Randy Orton will indeed be taking a time-off in February and March from the WWE schedule. It is why he is not being advertised in any of the WWE shows and live events, going forward.
The last show that he is being advertised is the February 11th edition of Smackdown Live. The next advertisement featuring him is indicating that he will come back on the April 10th episode of Smackdown which will be the post-Wrestlemania episode.
According to the source, Randy Orton will miss most of the earlier shows in the year 2018 but will be back in time to work at the Wrestlemania 34 event. It is the one night of the year where each of the superstars dies to perform, and the veteran is not likely to sit out of the event.
The source also confirmed that we should get used to seeing less of the legendary character on WWE TV, as he is set to work on a lighter schedule for the entire year of 2018. The reason for this schedule is still to be unknown. But, a hiatus for two months should freshen things up for him, as the schedules might be changed in the future for him where he will make more appearances.
There’s no denying the amount of star power he brings in with each of the appearances on the blue brand. Randy Orton can be considered as the one who has made Smackdown Live more interesting ever since the brand split became intact in 2016. His character transition from a babyface to a heel, and vice-versa during the feud with Bray Wyatt was one of the best during the last Wrestlemania season.
