WWE News: Update on WWE Banning Another Move by a Superstar 1

It is not new to see WWE banning several moves by the superstars even if it is a pendant move for them. Due to the injury bug’s effect, the company officials always tone down the moves that can hurt their opponents. So, previously, Randy Orton was barred from performing his Punt move to the skull so that he can’t cause any head concussions to any superstar.

The same happened with Seth Rollins, as well when the officials did not let him perform his finish manoeuvre, Curb Stomp following Wrestlemania 31. He was also not allowed to perform the Buckle Bomb after injuring Sting during their Night of Champions match in 2015. In case you don’t know, this was the match which forced Sting to announce his retirement from the pro-wrestling industry.

Hideo Itami is the latest addition to the list of superstars with banned moves. He is always known to be an unsafe performer inside the squared circle that barred him from becoming a top superstar on the NXT roster. So, the officials let him come to the 205 Live roster where superstars can perform without any such prohibition.

But, the Itami proved the tag attached to his name to be true by injuring The Bryan Kendrick in his first singles match on Monday Night Raw. He hit the GTS (Go to sleep) in an unsafe way on the veteran superstars from the Cruiserweight Division to break his nose. It is likely that he will miss in-ring action for the upcoming two months.

It was not taken well by the creative team, for sure, as they are said to be banning this pendant move from now onwards. As seen on the very next edition of 205 Live show; he did not use the GTS manoeuvre and should not use it, going forward. In his match against Jack Gallagher, he defeated The Gentleman via the Rings of Saturn submission move.

This ban might have come at the worse time in the career of Hideo Itami, as it just started to pick up on the 205 Live roster. If he can’t perform safely in the future, then it is likely that his career will be going nowhere. Hopefully, the unintentional move of hurting Kendrick would not affect his career, and he could become the face of the Cruiserweight division, sooner.
