The women’s Royal Rumble match was truly a grand initiative taken by the WWE. This is a really historic step for the female wrestlers. Around the world, several of them are performing well conquering the ring just like the men. So, this announcement was certainly a recognition of their ability which is no less than the men.

With this step, the biggest pro-wrestling promotion of the world needed more names to fill up the ring considering the women’s Royal Rumble tradition will be retained as a 30-woman contest. So, moving forward the female roster will continue to grow.

Needless to say, this will continue to decrease the barrier between the two divisions.

With the rumors of this match going on for quite a while, WWE finally confirmed it on the 18th December episode of WWE Raw.

The former cornerstone of the women’s division and one of the head honchos of the company, Stephanie McMahon was the one to announce the same on live television.

This pushed the social media to go ga-ga over the path-breaking match.

Recently, WWE Raw women’s champion, Alexa Bliss spoke about this match which might have already determined her challenger at the biggest event of the year also known as Wrestlemania.

While speaking to the 96.9 The Fox with Jim Lambert, she expressed her excitement about the over the top rope contest took place on January 28th.

The wicked witch of the WWE declared that she was excited for the participants of the Royal Rumble match.

The initiative taken by the WWE is amazing, according to her which will set more paths for the women’s division in the future.

So, she predicted that this contest would go down as one of the most historic moments in the history of the company.

“I think that the fact that Stephanie [McMahon] came out and announced that we’re having the first-ever women’s Royal Rumble, that’s huge. That’s never happened before, and I feel like this match is probably one of the most historic because every woman is involved, and that’s what I love about it.”

Despite being this much excitement for the match, Little Miss Bliss sat out of the contest on that evening.

Charlotte Flair from Smackdown Live had to deal with the same fate. They both are the reigning champions on their respective brands and hence will have to wait for the potential challengers who will emerge to one of them.
