The conflict between the two authority figures will continue after the huge announcement made by the Smackdown commissioner, Shane McMahon. Daniel Bryan continued to show favoritism to the duo of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. So, at this time, Shane decided to hand away opportunities to superstars of his own choice.
By virtue of this, a huge main event match will take place crowning yet another contender for the Fastlane PPV’s WWE Championship match.
It will comprise of a returning superstar who is showing up on Smackdown after two months. Tonight’s episode will take place at the Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield, California.

Last week, it was announced that Dolph Ziggler will be returning on Smackdown, this week. He was scheduled to face Baron Corbin in a singles contest.
Later, the commissioner made this match a contender’s match with the winner getting included in the Fastlane PPV main event. So, the stakes have reached quite higher.
WWE.com predicted who might walk out as the winner and a golden opportunity:
“Dolph Ziggler returns to SmackDown LIVE for the first time in seven weeks. By the end of the night, The Showoff could be walking right into a WWE Championship opportunity. SmackDown Commissioner Shane McMahon revealed on Twitter Thursday morning that the winner of the battle between Ziggler and Baron Corbin will be added to the WWE Championship Match at WWE Fastlane.”
It is certain that Dolph Ziggler stands the most chance to win this match. He was kept off from the show without no reason, whatsoever. So, while coming back, he should get a big opportunity creating an impact on the fans. If that’s not the case then his career will become irrelevant, again.
Meanwhile, it is evident that the other three participants who are already in this match will not be happy with another one getting the opportunity making the upcoming title match a fatal-4-way one.
So, they will definitely declare their frustrations on the situation. Also, it will be interesting to see what Daniel Bryan’s take will be on Shane’s decision.
In the women’s division, Charlotte Flair has defeated Liv Morgan of the Riott Squad, last week before promising to take out the remaining two members of the faction, one by one. So, this week, another one is supposed to be her victim.
Sarah Logan is the confirmed name to be pitted against the Smackdown women’s champion.
The United States Championship picture just got heated up with Randy Orton appearing, out of nowhere.
Bobby Roode defeated Rusev with a clean pin. But, his celebration was cut short with RKO from Orton. This is really interesting to see The Viper probably gunning for the US title at this point in his career.
Tonight, Roode will be issuing an open challenge for his title on the show.
