Manchester United’s revenue has been down due to absence from Champions League football last season and the figure of the loss has been revealed.
The club is reporting that revenues are down in the last season by 8.8 per cent to £395.2million.
Manchester United’s income fell by £38million from £433.2million which is a huge one.
Manchester United did not get around £50 million in revenues last season from European Competition, but that was partially offset by an increase in commercial incomes.
But, due to a comeback into champions League this season and thanks to a huge kit deal with Adidas, the 20-time English League champions are set to become the first ever English club to reach half a billion revenue in a single season.
Manchester United’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward said: “As we look to the new season, we are enthusiastic about our strong position, both on and off the pitch.”
“In recent weeks we have further strengthened our squad with an exciting mix of experience and youth, qualified for the group stage of the UEFA Champions League, and seen an impressive launch of our partnership with Adidas.”
“Our record revenue and EBITDA guidance for 2016 reflects the underlying strength of our business and our confidence in its continued growth.”
