John Cena’s road to Wrestlemania looks in serious jeopardy with the recent happenings on WWE programming.
For the first time in his 15 year-long-career, he does not have a confirmed opponent.
This is why he is shifting to the Smackdown Live brand to find a new challenge. It would be after Summerslam 2017 that he will be making an appearance on the blue brand.
It is going to hype-up the Road to Wrestlemania for the Smackdown brand. They needed more marquee names under their banner to keep things interesting, and there’s no one better to do this than the franchise player of the company. According to the updates from WWE’s official website, he is likely to find a new challenge on the show,
“After a disappointing performance in the Men’s Elimination Chamber Match on Sunday, John Cena vowed that his Road to WrestleMania was not cut short, promising to find a way to The Show of Shows. John Cena somberly reflected on his legendary career on Raw Talk while seemingly turning the gears in his head, looking for another opportunity to perform on The Grandest Stage of Them All.”

As per the rumours ongoing around the social media sites, it is likely that he will get onboard to the blue brand to set up a huge match at the Fastlane PPV event. None other than Shinsuke Nakamura is going to be pitted against him. John Cena is likely to challenge this man with his main event spot being on the line.

It was speculated that Cena might ask Nakamura to wrestle him for his Mania title shot.

As we all know, The Artist has won this year’s edition of the Royal Rumble PPV to earn his opportunity to be the main event of Wrestlemania 34. Now, the Cenation Leader is to show up tonight and issue an open challenge to the Rockstar of the WWE to set up this match. The implications will be high with the Wrestlemania spotlight in stakes.
It will confirm a match against Nakamura at the Fastlane PPV. Quite interestingly, John Cena is being advertised to feature at the Fastlane PPV event on March 11th which means that the creative team almost finalizes this match.
This is going to be a dream match for the fans with two of the veteran superstars squaring off inside the squared circle.
