Last night’s Smackdown Live witnessed some fast and furious actions from both the men and women’s division.
This handed us two newly announced matchups at the Fastlane PPV event, as well. It was the go-home show for the upcoming PPV show which hyped-up the PPV on this Sunday night.
The night finished off with a fatal-five-way match amongst five of the superstars who will compete in the WWE Championship match at Fastlane. Sami Zayn won it and cut a strong promo to end the night. Going forward, there were a lot of actions stored on the show.
There was a dark match stored for the Green Bay crowd that will take place at the Fastlane PPV. It was Shinsuke Nakamura who appeared before the crowd to have a match against Rusev. Aiden English was present by the ringside for this matchup in Rusev’s corner. Nakamura started the match by signing a song to Rusev which received a huge pop from the crowd.
The audience also chanted “we want Lana”. But, Rusev continued to play classic heelish antics, following this. Check out how the Artist picked up the win, (courtesy wrestlingINC.com)
“There were also loud “we want Lana” chants during the match. Rusev pointed to the back, where Lana was, and the chants got louder, but he then took a mic and announced that all we were getting is Rusev Day. Nakamura ended up getting the DQ win due to interference from English. The segment ended with Nakamura hitting a Kinshasa on English and then pinning him as the crowd counted.”
There was another dark match stored on the night. A tag team match took place where the New Day took on against the team of Chad gable and Shelton Benjamin.
The crowd was invested to a big extent for the babyface team who picked up the win. They delivered a Midnight hour to pick up the win.
