Ronda Rousey officially signed on WWE Raw just before the Wrestlemania 34 PPV.
It happened at the Elimination Chamber PPV event. It was a good time to bring her on the WWE TV since this is that time of the year where big names resurface to sell out the episodes of Raw and Smackdown Live.
The mainstream name from the sports world was likely to help the TV ratings and draw more ticket-selling for the company. It is why WWE had already confirmed the former UFC Bantamweight Champion would appear on each of the episodes of WWE Raw leading up to the Wrestlemania event. These were the dates from where she was being previously advertised,
5th March – BMO Harris Bradley Center, Milwaukee, Wisconsin
12th March – Little Caesars Arena, Detroit, Michigan
19th March – American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas
26th March – Quicken Loans Arena, Cleveland, Ohio.
2nd April – Philips Arena, Atlanta, Georgia.
However, we knew there were some changes in her schedule after she skipped the bygone edition of WWE Raw hosted from Detroit, Michigan. Despite WWE mentioning her for an appearance, she was not seen, and the storyline angle between her and Stephanie McMahon was continued by a vignette aired on the show. Already, the match has been announced that will see Ronda Rousey teaming up with Kurt Angle against Stephanie McMahon and Triple H.
Going forward, we are not likely to see her on WWE Raw programming for two more weeks. According to the reports of wrestlingINC.com, the original schedule of the former MMA superstar posted on WWE.com was removed. Furthermore, she will appear on only one episode of the flagship show in April.
It is what the update stated,
“WWE has since updated their advertising and removed Rousey from the next two RAWs, as well as deleting their original article about Rousey’s RAW appearances. Rousey is now slated to appear at one RAW before WrestleMania, the April 2nd show from the Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.”
We have already experienced a certain backlash of Ronda Rousey ‘no-showing’ on the flagship show in Detroit. The fans might just continue to do so in the upcoming weeks. Furthermore, making part-time appearances in the company during Wrestlemania season would earn her a lot of negative remarks just like Brock Lesnar.
