Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in New Delhi may lose out on hosting the home games of the India Premier League’s (IPL) franchise Delhi Daredevils.
As per a report in TOI, the old clubhouse dispute is the reason behind it. It is just 11 metres away from Kotla Baoli.

The reports suggested that it is the clear violation of the norms of Archeological Survey of India (ASI).
It is the clubhouse area from where the broadcasting of the matches is done. It is also space where a press box is located. And in the same area, commentary box is also placed.
Beneath the clubhouse, there is a stand which can accommodate around 2,000 fans. Similarly, the ticketing prices of that stand is quite high which somewhat came into a bad taste for the spectators.

If the state association is not guaranteed the permission to use that area, then there is no way that broadcasters can televise the game.

The clubhouse is located at a point from where commentators, media, and the public can see a match from a 90-degree angle.
This means that they can see bowlers’ hand right from the behind and can easily dictate what is going on in the match.
No other angle can really give a taste of this sort of coverage.
As per the report, the state association is looking forward to requesting the court – to allow the broadcasting team to use the area so as to televise the game.

The matter will be up for hearing on April 18. However, the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) will hope to get the clearance.
However, if it is not granted permission, then the games could be shifted out of Feroz Shah Kotla.
Venues like Kanpur, Raipur, Rajkot, and Indore have been kept on standby in case the games are shifted out of the Indian capital.
Earlier, the franchise was looking to play some games at the second venue. But Head Coach Ricky Ponting stopped the franchise from doing so.
However, now the franchise might be forced to play at another venue.
Delhi Daredevils will play their first home game against Kings XI Punjab on April 23.
