What an IPL this is turning out to be for MS Dhoni and the Chennai Super Kings?
The veteran wicket-keeper-batsman has already notched up three fifties in the ongoing edition of the IPL 2018.
The most recent one came against the Delhi Daredevils in Pune. Dhoni’s unbeaten 22-ball 51 took his side to 211/4 in their allotted 20 overs.
Openers Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis provided a solid start for the yellow-brigade. The duo got involved in a 102-run opening stand. The target proved to be too much for the visitors, as they faltered by 13 runs.
It wasn’t the best night for the CSK unit in the field. A few close chances and ordinary bowling from their seasoned campaigners made the game interesting, but the score was enough to stop Delhi Daredevils from winning.

Post the win; Dhoni said he is enjoying the challenges. Not often we get to see the right-hand batsman come in the initial phase of the game and take the bowlers to the cleaners.
The skipper also praised Ambati Rayudu, who has been prolific with the bat. Dhoni said Rayudu’s ability to score runs at any position gives them the edge.
“It’s very important for us to get off to a good start, not necessarily in terms of runs, but even a good partnership, and I can promote myself and come out at No. 5. It’s more fun when you go into the 8th and 10th overs and the bowler doesn’t know when you will go for the big runs. Looking at the wicket, we thought we’ll get an overseas batsman in. We thought Sam needed a bit of rest. Having Rayudu in the middle and Faf open gives more stability to the middle order. And Rayudu can score runs at any position, so that was the best decision.” Dhoni said.
