The ball-tampering row resulted in year-long bans to Australia captain Steven Smith and his deputy David Warner. Whereas, besieged ball-tamperer Cameron Bancroft got suspended for nine months.
Darren Lehmann, the former head coach of Baggy Green got cleared of any wrongdoing in the case before resigning from the coveted post.
But, Lehman eventually got replaced by former teammate Justin Langer.

The damage to Australia’s reputation has been immense with local fans disgusted and significant sponsors abruptly ending its support with the team.
However, Australia will tour England for the limited-overs series and will look forward to preparing for the World Cup in 2019 scheduled in England.

The new look Australian side will be led by the Tasmanian batsman, Tim Paine. The wicketkeeper-batsman Paine got appointed as the captain of the team after Steven Smith’s exit.
The selectors have also picked up off-spinner Nathan Lyon in the One-day International team for the first time since 2016.
Lyon feels the throwing tantrums by the English fans and media won’t make the Australians cry.

“I’ve never played in England where they haven’t given it to us. There’s no point taking some tissues out with us, we’ve just got to stand out there and cop it. It’s a good chance for Australian cricket to move on and a good chance for Australian players to rebuild the trust and faith of the Australian public and earn back their respect,” Lyon told reporters as quoted by Reuters.

In addition, Nathan Lyon also talked about his agenda after getting picked for English tour.
Moreover, the wily customer Lyon stated it is a perfect opportunity to make an impression in the limited overs format.
“It’s well documented that I want to play in all three formats for Australia, that’s my goal,” remarked Lyon.
“To get this opportunity and be included in the squad and to head over to England, where the World Cup is being played that’s going to be a massive advantage,” he concluded.
