Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, will be encouraged trying to lure Pep Guardiola for the second time to accept the managerial post at Stamford Bridge if Jose Mourinho cannot immediately roll the dice around as the Blues are slumping down.

If the reports are true then it’s bad news for City. Few weeks earlier Manchester City were confident to bring in Guardiola in place of Pelegrini as a verbal agreement was reportedly been reached between Pep Guardiola and Tixi Begiristain, City’s director of football and former Barcelona colleague, that the Bayern Munich boss will eventually take over at the Etihad.

In the meantime intermediaries specially sniffing agents, both in England and Germany, working individually without any request from Abramovich or Chelsea hierarchy, have already attempted several meetings to identify whether Guardiola will be interested to take the challenge at Stamford Bridge after his Bayern Munich contract expires at the end of this campaign. They are doing everything they can, to be in a comfortable position to convice Guardiola to join the Blues if Mourinho is axed.

However, the hope of Chelsea owner remains with Mourinho to find a solution to this disaster but against West Ham United a fifth League defeat of the season pushed the alarm button. Abramovich may be now feeling he has no other option at this moment but to bring another manager.

Other than the shocking result on Saturday, Mourinho’s struggling to be in control was again heightened by the incident where he was sent to stands for shouting at referee Jonathan Moss at half-time.
