WWE Raw lacked momentums in the past few weeks. It came up with several boring episodes for the past couple of weeks. The showrunners announced a string of matches for last night’s edition. It was a good way to build up the show for the MITB PPV event.

One of those matches on WWE Raw featured two former Universal Champions.

It turned out to a solid contest as expected earlier. These two were bitter rivals back in the NXT days. They were former NXT Champions too. It looked like they did not lose a bit of chemistry between them.

The two men went right at each other from the get-go. They started the match on WWE Raw by hammering away at each other.

Owens tried to overpower Balor using his body weight. But Balor targeted his opponents’ legs. Owens had to go outside the ring to take a breather.

Owens came back to the ring to deliver an elbow to the face. He followed it with a whip into the corner.

He also delivered an avalanche into the corner to Balor but failed to pick up three-count. Balor countered with a slingshot kick off the rope. He went for the Coup De Grace, but Owens rolled out of the ring.

Both of them continued to use the chin and waist locks so much making it a bit boring. The match’s pace on WWE Raw picked up when Owens went for a senton splash. Balor moved out of the way. He connected with a dropkick to the midsection of Owens. He set him up for the Coup De Grace once more.

Balor delivered his pendant drop kick into the corner and hit the top rope. Owens realized he’s in danger. He quickly pulled Balor’s legs to make a Tree of Woe with him.

He continued stomping on his former NXT rival. The referee tried to stop him several times but failed. He had no choice but to call the match off.

Owens brought a ladder in the ring and climbed it. He wanted to deliver a frog splash but afraid of heights stopped him from doing so. Balor rejuvenated from the attack in the meantime and put Owens down with a dropkick.

Balor climbed the ladder and delivered a Coup De Grace from the top of the ladder. He climbed it once more to unhook the MITB briefcase. He posed with it to end this week’s WWE Raw.
