Baron Corbin entered the fray on WWE Raw in this year’s April. He left the Smackdown Live brand during Superstar Shakeup to get into the flagship show. Fans did not care much about this shift. There’s a reason behind this.
The creative team was very high on this man even last year too. It is why he was the one to receive the Money in the Bank briefcase. But things did not turn out to be positive around him. The former NXT superstar failed to garner the needed attention for him. It is why the officials let him drop the MITB briefcase in-time for Summerslam PPV.
It was only the third instance in WWE history where a superstar failed to cash-in MITB briefcase successfully. The WWE Universe understood that the push around Baron Corbin came to an abrupt halt. Keeping the audience in cricket-mode after entering the arena was not acceptable for the officials.
But the 2016 Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal Winner might have received a second chance. The WWE Raw commissioner promoted him to a new authority figure of the red brand from last week onwards. Stephanie McMahon appointed him as the ‘constable’ on her show.
Baron Corbin will be acting as an authority on the flagship show on behalf of the commissioner. He will have the power to make and cancel matches and their outcomes. Corbin continued to exercise his power on the referee by arguing with them. Kurt Angle had no option but to reverse the decision of a six-woman tag team match under his pressure.
It is likely that this stint will bring more troubles to the WWE Raw general manager. WWE.com gave an update on this role which suggests Baron Corbin is likely to propel himself to the next level of his career,
“Raw Commissioner Stephanie McMahon has named Baron Corbin the new “Constable” of Raw with the intent of keeping Raw General Manager Kurt Angle in line. He has already been enjoying his new position, which has thus far included berating referees and spoiling Bayley, Sasha Banks, and Ember Moon’s victory party, and something tells us he’s just getting started. How will The Lone Wolf assert himself next?”
It is a good thing that the former MITB winner is getting a push on the roster. He has all the tools to become the next WWE Champion. A couple of good storylines and keeping him around the Hall of Famer Kurt Angle can help a lot in this matter.
