WWE will conduct the Summerslam PPV event next month. It is the second biggest show of the year after Wrestlemania.

So it’s almost certain that some of the marquee names and part-timers of the company will feature in some huge matches to make the show spectacular. For the fourth consecutive year, the Barclays Center in Brooklyn New York will be the host of the show.

Now before we get the show on WWE Network, there will be one last stop for the WWE fans in the form of Extreme Rules PPV. It is one of those nights the where we get some of those infamous stipulated matches. But since Summerslam is on the horizon, it looks like WWE will present just a filler event on this Sunday.

However, the match setups of the biggest party of the summer will certainly depend on the outcomes of the upcoming show. Recently, Ringsidenews.com came up with an update about the potential matches that might take place at Summerslam. It included both the Raw and Smackdown brands.

According to the source, Daniel Bryan will feature in a big match either against The Miz or Kane. It depends on the storyline angle that the creative team is willing to take. If Kane is going to be his opponent, then it’s certain that he will betray his partner at the upcoming Smackdown tag team championship match.

It will set up a rematch between these two after four years. Co-incidentally, these two had met in an Extreme Rules match four years ago that might pave the way for yet another contest between them.

The source also hinted a rematch that is waiting from the women’s division. Sasha Banks will continue her feud against Bayley during the entire summer. Hence, they are most likely to collide in a Summerslam match, too. This time around, there should be a stipulation added to it. Their match at Extreme Rules will set the future direction, for sure.

Apart from these two contests, Alexa Bliss vs Ronda Rousey is almost official for Summerslam considering their ongoing rivalry. Bliss is the favourite to retain her title against Nia Jax at Extreme Rules. Also, Brock Lesnar is reportedly the main event of the show on August 19th. He will take on either Bobby Lashley or Roman Reigns.
