India cricketer, Ambati Rayudu has decided to skip the Yo-Yo test and subsequently missed out from all the squads announced by BCCI on July 23 (Monday). Notably, Rayudu failed to clear the Yo-Yo test last month and missed being on the flight to the UK.

Rayudu had a remarkable season with the Chennai Super Kings this season guiding his team to the title. However, the turnaround in his form has not reflected in his fitness. Furthermore, as per reports, he has since then not appeared for the mandatory Yo-Yo test.

So India A and India B squads for quadrangular series, India Blue, Red and Green teams for the Duleep Trophy and India A team for the two four-day games against South Africa A have no place for the 32-year old cricketer.

The reports also state BCCI has strictly informed the selectors not to pick players who have not cleared the test.  Subsequently, Rayudu, who had failed the yo-yo test on June 15, was left out. He had six weeks to come back into the reckoning, but he has sought more time.

Having gone to England with the Chennai Super Kings junior side, Rayudu has sought more time. Ambati Rayudu has asked two more weeks to appear for the test. If he clocks the required time, he will be available for selection for the upcoming Asia Cup in September.

Meanwhile, the selectors have picked the squads with inputs from India A coach Rahul Dravid.
