Kane was back in the WWE, four weeks ago. It was a surprising moment for the fans where he reunited with Daniel Bryan to reform the Team Hell No.
It was after five long years that the entertaining tag team was back on board to fight together. They soon received their next opponent in the Bludgeon Brothers.
We expected to witness a solid tag team title match at the Extreme Rules PPV event. Bludgeon Brothers have been unstoppable ever since becoming the champions. It looked like Daniel Bryan, and Kane were the most valiant opponent for them throwing a big challenge to them.
Unfortunately, the tag team match never even happened. The Smackdown tag team champions attacked Kane at the backstage area to hurt him. They injured his ankle in such a bad way to leave him in an incompetent position. So Daniel Bryan had no choice but to go against the two behemoths, alone.
However, we reported it earlier that there’s a chance that this attack might be a storyline angle. Cagesideseats.com has come up with a report confirming it was just a kayfabe injury to keep him aside from Smackdown Live. Kane was already suffering from an injury. So the creative team had to cover that up through this backstage attack.
Apparently, Kane had torn his Achilles Tendon on the go-home episode of Smackdown for Extreme Rules. So he was in no state to compete at the PPV event. This attack took place to portray it as a real injury. Later, he appeared with a walking boot on his leg due to the same reason.
Going forward, we will not see him on Smackdown Live soon. Check out more updates on this attack, (courtesy stillrealtous.com),
“Unfortunately it sounds like we’ve seen the last of Kane for a while, as it’s also being reported that he’s not expected to return to television anytime soon. From here on out he will be focusing on his campaign to become Mayor of Knox County, TN.”
Now, the Big Red Machine has headed back to continue his political career. It leaves Daniel Bryan to pursue his singles career once again. The storyline angle suggests Daniel Bryan will compete in a singles contest against the Miz at the Summerslam PPV.
