WWE Raw from Greensboro came up with a tag team championship match on the card. It was quite surprising to see a title match just six nights away from Summerslam. Originally these kinds of title matches culminate on the PPV card itself. But probably, the officials preponed it considering the lengthy PPV night.
Nevertheless, the B-Team had their second championship defense on WWE Raw. They won these gold at the Extreme Rules PPV night. Deletor of Worlds fell victim to them which was unthinkable. The tag team received another shot to regain the championships a week later but failed. The Revival entered the picture, thereafter.
The duo of Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson was flying high after pinning Roman Reigns in a tag team match. So they eyed the tag team titles next. These two were so close to defeating the champions on last week’s WWE Raw. But Hardy and Wyatt interfered making the match disqualified. So the GM of the show sanctioned a triple threat match.
The tag team champions had to defend it against Revival and Deletors of World. It turned out to be the toughest challenge for them to date on WWE Raw. The Revival had all the momentums by their side from the very get-go. They countered a furious Matt Hardy and stopped him from delivering a Twist of Fate. He digested a Hart Attack from the Revival which is Jeff Hardy’s finishing maneuver. Dawson also gave a leg-drop to Hardy but failed to get the pinfall.
A chaos broke out inside the ring with The Revival in control of the tag team match. The two heels ganged up on Bray Wyatt and pulled off the Shatter Machine on him. They were about to pick up the tag team titles when Axel got the blind tag from Dallas. He broke the pinfall by Revival and pinned Wyatt himself to retain the titles on WWE Raw.
However, their title reign looks to be in jeopardy. The tag team titles will be on the line yet again at Summerslam. The Revival will get a traditional opportunity in a two-on-two capacity. WWE.com confirmed the matchup after WWE Raw went off the air,
“Now, Dash Wilder & Scott Dawson will refocus their efforts when they get a traditional title opportunity against The B-Team this Sunday at SummerSlam. Will fortune finally run out for WWE’s luckiest combination? Or will The B-Team score another improbable W? Plus, will former titleholders Bray Wyatt & Matt Hardy play a role in this explosive affair?”
