WWE always treats Brock Lesnar as a special person. His working schedule is entirely different from that of the other superstars present in the company.
All the stars have to work all around the year in taped or non-taped house shows. Overall, a superstar performs more than 300 days in a calendar year.
But the reigning Universal Champion does not follow that rule. He does not wrestle in the flagship programming of the company, i.e. Monday Night Raw. We barely get to see him in some of the PPV events in an entire year. Furthermore, sometimes he appears in a couple of live events as per his contract negotiations. It is not a regular thing although.
The same schedule followed ever since WWE signed Brock Lesnar in 2012. He appears to promote his matchups in the PPV events. Then he goes back to a hiatus and resurfaces again after several months. We should note that the same schedule remains intact even if he is the prime champion present on the Raw brand.

Brock Lesnar won the WWE world heavyweight championship in 2014 and defended it occasionally. He captured the Universal title back in Wrestlemania 33. This title run is going on, still. It’s hard to believe that he had defended his championship on just six occasions during this run that had surpassed 450 days.
WWE legend and former general manager, Eric Bischoff recently spoke up on this lacklustre run with the Universal Championship. He stated things become stale when you keep the prime title absent from the scene for such a long span of time. After all, it’s the common goal that the roster members thrive for.
Plus, Bischoff also stated it makes Brock Lesnar irrelevant in the scene of sports entertainment. Check out his comments from an interview conducted by Sky Sports Lock Up Podcast, (courtesy wrestlingINC.com),
“I hate to say irrelevant, but the title doesn’t really mean all that much. Brock’s character, the way it is being positioned, doesn’t really mean anything to me as a fan or a viewer. I don’t feel like there’s any real focus on him or his title. So, it seems to be a convenient afterthought more than anything else.”

However, just like everybody else, former WCW owner also had certain likings towards Brock Lesnar. He is a one of a kind athlete that has amazed the world by his physical dominance, over the years,
“And I like Brock Lesnar. I think he’s an amazing performer; he’s an amazing character. As an athlete, I don’t think there’s anybody, other than perhaps Kurt Angle, that’s anywhere near his stratosphere.”
