Dale Steyn continues his injury woes.
Meanwhile, Dale Steyn has struggled with the spate of injuries in the last couple of years. The talisman Proteas fast bowler suffered a shoulder injury in Australia at the beginning of 2016. The injury kept him on the sidelines for a period of almost two years.
Steyn had made his comeback against India in the first Test Match at Newlands. However, a heel injury ruled him out of action again for the rest of the series. Thus, Steyn could not get ready for the series against Australia.
However, the fiery fast bowler recently made his comeback against Sri Lanka in the two-match series which the Proteas lost 0-2. Steyn could not create the same magic with the ball as he took only two wickets in the first Test match. Furthermore, he went wicketless in the second Test match.

However, Steyn was able to equal Shaun Pollock record of highest 421 wickets for the Proteas in red ball version.
Steyn looks in the fag end of his career and the regular trouble with the injuries has taken away the spark from him. The Proteas fast bowler who is regarded as the best pacers of the modern era cleared his intentions that the next year World Cup will be his limited overs swansong.
“I will be trying to get to that World Cup [in England]. But after the World Cup, I don’t see myself playing white-ball cricket for South Africa. By the time the next World Cup comes, I will be 40,” Steyn had said at a promotional event in Mumbai last month.
