South Africa A was finally able to get themselves on the board when they won their first match of the ongoing Quadrangular series. Khaya Zondo led side won against India A by a margin of four wickets and also gained a bonus point.
Zondo won the toss and decided to put India A into bat. However, the Shreyas Iyer led team could only manage a paltry 157 runs on the board as they skittled out inside 38 overs.

India A kept sliding down the slope as they lost wickets at regular intervals. The opening pair of Suryakumar Yadav and Abhimanyu Easwaran found themselves back in the hunt after 20 balls. India A skipper Shreyas Iyer could also not get going as his woodwork was disturbed by Robert Frylink.
Meanwhile, Dane Paterson was the pick of the South Africa A bowlers. The right-handed pacer scalped his five-for and conceded only 19 runs in his 9.3 overs. Thus, he was the chief destroyer of the India A side. Consequently, he was awarded the Man of the Match award.

On the other hand, India A was tottering at 76 for the loss of six wickets. However, Sanju Samson and Deepak Chahar were able to put together an alliance of 64 runs to push India’s total to 157 runs. Sanju scored 36 whereas Deepak Chahar scored 38 to provide some resistance.
Meanwhile, South Africa was able to sail through to the total. However, they also lost six wickets in the process. The Proteas right-handed opener Peter Malan was the top scorer with 47 runs. However, with the little contributions of the middle order, South Africa was able to get to the target.
Thus, South Africa A is likely to make to the final as they have a better Net Run Rate as compared to India A.
