“Focus on Process, not outcome”, India’s talented young batsman Sanju Samson is following this quote. The 23-year old prodigy said he has stopped thinking about his selection in the senior Indian team.
Sanju recently played for India A side in the Quadrangular series involving India B, Australia A, and South Africa A. However, the right-hander from Kerala was demoted down the order after mundane performances.

Samson had made his T20I debut against Zimbabwe in 2015. In fact, it was the solitary matches he has played in the Indian colors. However, Sanju Samson looks better than the previous season every time he comes to play in the IPL. Thus, it was a similar case as he scored 441 runs in 15 matches of the 2018 season.
“I have stopped thinking about selection because when you think about it, your mind is not in the not in the match and you are not in the right frame of mind,” he told reporters after India A lost the match to South Africa A in the ongoing Quadrangular series.
Furthermore, it is not only the IPL in which Sanju Samson has impressed with his strokeplay but also in the domestic circuit. The flamboyant right-hander scored runs at an average of 50 in the previous season of the Ranji Trophy. However, he still could attract selectors eyes towards him.

Meanwhile, Sanju Samson is confident to break into the side if he continues to play well. “If you perform well, you are almost there. If I have a good season, there might be a chance.”
Sanju believes it is better to keep enjoying the game and the results will follow.
“But it is better to forget about getting into the team, instead enjoy every game and keep doing well as batsman and wicketkeeper”.
Sanju Samson is on the right path as he is patient with his selection. The right-hander has shown the promise to be the future of Indian cricket and would aim to continue with the good work.
