WWE Raw audience in Toronto got a major treat this week. None other than Trish Stratus returned on the show confronting Elias. The hometown crowd gave her a standing ovation she deserved.
It is always a pleasure to see the most fabulous women’s champion of all-time coming back onboard. Also, she also featured in an entertaining segment with Elias.
The Drifter was talking trash about Toronto hosting WWE Raw. It has become a general norm where he blasts the host city being garbage. Toronto was the latest inclusion to the list. Trish Stratus had heard enough of this and came out to shut him up. Elias continued with the insults and even took a shot at the WWE Hall of Famer, too.
He denied to date someone like her who is in the sixties. An outrageous Trish Stratus slapped the taste out of his mouth. Well, this was perhaps the most exciting segment of this past edition of WWE Raw. Fans could not have expected more from a returning legend. Later, she got into a heated conversation segment with Alexa Bliss.
We should remind you that The Goddess of WWE Raw will get a chance to compete in a match against Trish Stratus at the Evolution PPV event. So she was trying to get into the head of the veteran superstar. So buildup of the upcoming match was a reason for letting the seven-time champion come back to the flagship show.
Plus, WWE wanted to create excitement among the fans for Summerslam coming to Toronto. Earlier, we received confirmation about the hosting venue for the biggest event of the summer in 2019. Trish Stratus coming back to her hometown acted as an enforcer to the news. The officials also wanted to give a pleasant surprise to the fans.
Sean Ross Sapp from Fightful.com gave updates that even the WWE Raw roster was not aware of the return. Even Elias did not know about who would interrupt him in that segment on WWE Raw. “We’d been told by a couple of people backstage that Elias was going to get interrupted, but it was kept quiet even backstage that Trish Stratus would be the one interrupting him. This is a little different from The Shield’s return last week because that was a complete surprise. Meanwhile, people knew Elias was getting interrupted, many just didn’t know by who.”
