Former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers possibly heading towards the Middle East following an offer of £10million from Qatari club Al Sadd.
Brendan Rodgers is now negotiating a possible return to management, but not in England. He is looking for a managerial gig with the Middle East giant Al Sadd, according to a report published by The Express.
The former Liverpool manager is right now having discussions for a lucrative job in the oil-rich Qatar where his wages would be around £3.5 million per year and the deal could be almost £10million. The middle-east club he is linked with is said to be Al Saad, where Barcelona legend Xavi plays now. The Qatari club in the past have tried to lure current Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola, Ronald and Frank de Boer along with Gabriel Batistuta.
Brendan Rodgers, who had to walk away from Anfield last month with a payoff in excess of £7m, ten days ago with his agent flew out for Qatar to meet the prospective new employers.
The 42-year-old ex-Reds chief earlier said he will be having a break from the game following the sack last month.
But as Rodgers’ stocks are still high, he has been tempted by the huge money on offer in a tax-free Qatar.
However, two days ago he was also linked with Queens Park Rangers and Leeds United. But now it is suggested that Rodgers was present in London to attend a secret meeting with his potential new employers.
The Northern Irishman used to work with the youth and reserve teams of Chelsea in the beginning of his managerial career following the injury which cut short his career as a player.
Then he had stints in charge of Watford, Reading and Swansea, ultimately leading to the Anfield appointment three years ago.
