Team India fast bowler Mohammed Shami has reportedly asked for police protection from the West Bengal government citing death threats coming from his wife, Hasin Jahan.
Meanwhile, this saga has been on the news for quite some time now. The pendulum of allegations swung from one end to another at regular intervals. As per reports in Aaj Tak, Mohammed Shami has demanded personal protection from the government.
Moreover, Shami had just won a maintenance case against Hasin Jahan just a month ago. She had demanded Rs. 10 Lakh per month from the pacer for her maintenance, which was turned down by the Alipore Court. However, Mohammed Shami will have to pay Rs. 80,000 every month for the support of his daughter Aairah.

Hasin Jahan, meanwhile, accused Shami on various grounds such as match-fixing, domestic violence, and sexual harassment. Despite taking into consideration and keeping him out of team India for some time, BCCI gave him a clean chit after a thorough investigation.
Mohammed Shami, however, has a tough few months ahead of himself. The management will aim to fix the World Cup squad in these few months. The pacer from Bengal needs to be more consistent to find himself a place in the plane to England.
Meanwhile, Shami’s next assignment will be against Windies in the two-match Test series beginning from October 4 at Rajkot.
