It was the last Smackdown Live before the Super Show Down event in Australia. The night opened with Paige addressing the situation between AJ Styles and Samoa Joe. We did get a hint about the Lana controversy about what happened in Milwaukee. Plus, Daniel Bryan was in action against Shelton Benjamin. Check out the results from the show that took place at the Moda Center, Rose Quarter in Portland, Oregon.
Smackdown general manager Paige opened the night in Portland talking about Samoa Joe invading AJ Styles house. She mentioned it to be the most disgusting act in WWE history. She and other officials have talked about this and came to a conclusion to fire Samoa Joe. But AJ Styles begged her not to do so. He wants Samoa Joe at Super Show Down to beat the hell out of him. So the title match will take place in Australia.
Carmella and R Truth appeared to have the opening contest of Smackdown Live. They went up against Andrade Cien Almas and Zelina Vega. Carmella entertained the crowd with her moonwalk when Vega showed some of her own skills. Mella got the better of Vega and almost pinned Vega but Almas broke the attempt. Truth neutralized Almas allowing Carmella to lock in the Code of Silence for a submission win.
The New Day was out next on Smackdown Live to show us the receipt of making pancakes. They also introduced us to Mr. Bootywoorth, the man who makes the pancakes every week! The Bar showed up in the middle of the segment and flipped the table off and attacked The New Day. They threw the pancakes and pour the hot mix of the recipe into Bootyworth’s hat.
Tye Dillinger begged Paige for a match against Randy Orton. She insisted on facing Nakamura, insisted. But Randy Orton vs. Tye Dillinger was official after numerous beggings. The match never went underway as Tye went for an attack on Orton by slamming him on the commentary table. But Orton came back with a draping DDT off the barricade. He continued the sadistic attack until the officials ran out to stop him.
Aiden English was out next to present to give video evidence for ‘one night in Milwaukee’ against Lana. It was a backstage segment where we spotted Aiden English rehearsing the song for Rusev Day in Milwaukee. Lana approached him and uttered ‘I want you’. He was excited to show more bit could not do it due to legal obligations. This surprised Rusev as he started to chase Aiden towards backstage.
Daniel Bryan collided with Shelton Benjamin on Smackdown Live. Benjamin started the match in an aggressive manner. Bryan was able to lock in the YES lock but Benjamin escaped it and slammed Bryan into the barricade, multiple times. Bryan still fought back with YES kicks until The Miz distracted him. Benjamin hit the Paydirt to pick up the win. Miz attacked Bryan from the back after the match and laid him down with a skull crushing finale.
Asuka featured in a singles contest against Peyton Royce. The latter one took initial control of the match hitting a modified backbreaker following with a clothesline. Asuka fought back valiantly hitting a drop-kick on Peyton. Thereafter, the Asuka Lock was in to give her the win.
Becky Lynch appeared to give us a surprise for Super Show Down in the final segment of Smackdown Live. She revealed a customized poster for the event which featured Becky Lynch standing over Charlotte Flair with the title. The Queen ran down to the arena and hit Becky straight with a spear. She locked in the Figure Eight for sometimes to lay down Becky on her back to end the show.
